Educate

Educating all residents of Isle of Palms is essential to ensure they are well-informed about local issues. By providing comprehensive information that outlines all considerations “for” and “against” a particular issue, residents can form their own opinions and engage meaningfully in community decisions.

Advocate

Advocating for all residents of Isle of Palms is crucial in supporting workable solutions that enhance the community's quality of life and ensure that residents' voices are heard.

Ordinances that protect and/or improve quality of life for residents.

Local regulations that enhance living conditions and community well-being ensure a safe, family-friendly community. This includes maintaining an equal balance of full time residences, part-time residences, and short-term rental dwellings in order to remain a residential community.

Wildlife Protection.

BIPA supports measures that protect our wildlife, especially nesting sea turtles and least terns.

Identification and city oversight for maintenance of septic tanks.

Ensuring proper septic tank maintenance prevents environmental hazards and promotes health.

Traffic congestion relief.

BIPA supports the implementation of measures that alleviate traffic congestion, including reconfiguration of the Isle of Palms Connector which would include a bike lane on one side of the bridge and two vehicular lanes to exit Isle of Palms.

Protect Home Rule at the state level.

Advocating for local governance rights ensures that community-specific needs and preferences are respected.

Communicate

Effective communication is vital for keeping all residents of Isle of Palms property owners informed and engaged. By utilizing various channels, BIPA ensures timely and accurate information reaches the community, empowering residents to participate actively in local affairs.

Understanding our septic tank inventory ensures awareness of environmental impacts and proactive measures we as a city can take to minimize operational failures given rising sea levels and effects of coastal storms.
